Wedding Secrets To Avoiding Disaster
On Your Wedding Day

1. Key people arriving late. Is it clearly communicated to people in your wedding party and family when they must be at the church for photos?
2. Check with suppliers the day before. How long has it been since you talked to some of the merchants for your wedding? If it's been awhile, you need to check in with them so they know what time they are to arrive and perform/deliver their service.
3. Food for the wedding party. People that are fed seem to be happier and more patient. Sometimes we as photographers don't get to all of the groups right away. Eating while they are waiting helps keep their energy level up and gives them something to do while waiting.
4. Guys: Try on the tux! One size doesn't fit all. It would be nice to know this before the wedding day. It makes one less thing for you to worry about. You want to look great!
5. Personal Attendant - what to do. There are many things you need personal help with on the day of the wedding. These things can include: carrying make-up, tissues, something to drink, help you move around in the wedding dress, sewing kit, mirror, and fixing your dress before you go down the aisle. If you don't tell them what you expect, they won't know what to do.
6. Communicate with the photographer. For the photographer to get the best photos, they have to know what's going to happen and when. What do you want your finished album to look like? For example: what special friends do you want photos of that aren't in the wedding party?
7. Stay with your wedding dress and accessories. Sometimes other people end up bringing things to the church for the bride like the wedding dress. Stay with your dress!
8. Tell your limo driver when you MUST be at the reception. It's no fun showing up late at your reception and having less time with your guests.
9. Let the hairdresser know when you must walk out the door. Being late to the church just starts out your wedding with stress because you are late.
10. Divorced parents. Are there any instances with your mom and dad in the same photo? These things needs to be decided with your parents BEFORE the wedding day.
