The Las Vegas Monorail Company runs the only privately owned public transportation system in the United States. The Monorail is privately-funded, utilizing no public funds to build or operate the system. In 2008, it dramatically reduced traffic by up to 3.4 million vehicle miles and improved air quality by reducing emissions by more than 61 tons of carbon monoxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Las Vegas Monorail Airport Expansion

The Las Vegas Monorail Company is currently in the planning stages of a proposed expansion to McCarran International Airport, which would help deliver Las Vegas visitors to the Las Vegas Strip.
This phase of expansion planning includes seeking environmental approval(s), securing appropriate entitlement rights through the Clark County Monorail Franchise and finalizing a ridership forecast for the expansion.
